Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has announced Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Expansion.
What is RNIP?
This program is designed to bring in global talent and fill labor shortages through community outreach. The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is designed to help bring new skilled worker immigrants to rural areas.
According to Sean Fraser, “Rural and northern communities face unique economic and demographic challenges, and the expansion of RNIP announced today makes it that much easier for communities to fill their critical labor market needs”
Also, the coming days will bring a few changes, including increases in qualified job positions and expanding certain areas.
The 11 RNIP Communities include:
-North Bay (Ont.),
-Sudbury (Ont.),
-Timmins, (Ont.),
-Sault Ste. Marie (Ont.),
-Thunder Bay (Ont.),
-Brandon (Man.),
-Altona/Rhineland (Man.),
-Moose Jaw (Sask.),
-Claresholm (Alta.),
-West Kootenay (BC) and
-Vernon (BC).
As per the recent analysis for the month of June, IRCC has reported that 1,130 newcomers have arrived in Canada through the RNIP program, which in turn has helped to fill the gaps in various fields, including healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation; retail, and hospitality.
Importance of RNIP:
The program provides access to remote employers, allowing smaller communities across the country to grow and develop economically.
Also, there are such programs like RNIP that are trying to encourage new newcomers and those who live in rural communities by providing them an opportunity to come together and better their economy.
