Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited around 4,300 new immigrants in an all-program draw held on 27th June 2023. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) was 486.
Category-Based Selection:
Recently, IRCC announced that the draws will be held for Express Entry candidates who fall under six new categories:
The categories are:
-Healthcare
-science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
-trades, such as carpenters, plumbers, and contractors
-transport
-agriculture and agri-food
-strong French-speaking abilities
In the latest draws, Invitations to Apply (ITAs) will be granted to Express Entry candidates who possess the necessary work or language experience in specific occupations within these categories.
Healthcare occupations constitute nearly half of the eligible occupations for category-based selection, while a significant portion is also occupied by Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
Canada Express Entry Program is an online system that is used to manage immigration applications from skilled workers. IRCC manages the applications received through the federal immigration programs and filters the eligible candidates for immigration to Canada depending on their experience, and skills. The program allows an individual to explore his/her skills, education, and work experience and apply them to the provinces accordingly.
