As you all know that the express entry has been resumed in the month of July 2022 where we have seen many changes that have been made to it. We as well know that for this express entry the cut-off score for the CRS was very high due to which there is a long wait for the applicants who have low CRS scores. We also know that migrants are one of the key factors in the Canadian Economy. Now due to the pandemic, there was no immigration which resulted in a shortage of labor force in Canada. Here comes the C-19 bill in the picture.
What is the C-19 bill?
The C-19 bill has been passed in the Senate and is on the track to becoming law for immigration. This law basically gives more authority to the immigration minister to choose from the applicants for immigration and can put them in groups. This is made to fulfill the demands of the labor force in Canada. Here the immigration minister has got the right to create groups according to the demands say as if there is a shortage of Doctors or Engineers in the country, the minister can create a group of Doctors and Engineers and can send them the invitations regardless of their CRS scores. Likewise, he can make other groups and send them invitations to fulfill the demands of the Canadian Economy.
When will this bill pass?
This is yet to be confirmed by the Canadian government when the bill will be passed and applied to the Express Entry. For the express entry that has been resumed in July 2022, this bill was not applied. But in the coming Express Entry, this bill will be applied by the immigration minister to overcome the demands.
What are the pros and cons of the bill?
Now as the bill has been passed in the senate and has got the approval of the ruling party, it’s just a formality that’s going on in the parliament for passing the bill. There are some pros and some cons in the bill. Now if we see as the government is looking for immigrants who are in demand for fulfilling the labour force for Canada, but due to the high score of CRS for express entry is quite high and due to which many professionals cannot be migrated. This bill will be blessing in disguise for them. Due to low CRS score they were not able to migrate but due to this bill these professionals can get invitations. But due to this, those applicants who has high score in CRS will have to wait as the invitations has already been sent to those group of people.
We need to wait for the Canadian government to publish more details for the dates when this law will be applied to the Express Entry.
