Provincial Nominee Program :
Keeping track of each Provincial Nominee Program is tough with so many PNP immigration streams. Here are our quick PNP recent updates, which will keep you up to speed on the status of all PNP streams.
Recently, three Canadian provinces published the results of their provincial immigration draws.
Except for Quebec and Nunavut, most provinces and territories operate Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) that choose economic class immigrants according to the labor demand of the province at the particular time.
Every year, each province is allotted a certain number of nominations under their respective PNPs. The number of invitations received by a province fluctuates according to numerous variables, including the total population and local labor force demands.
Quebec has a separate arrangement with the federal government under which the province has complete control over the selection and number of economic immigrants (skilled employees) that come to the province. Because immigration is a shared duty of the federal and provincial governments, this arrangement is achievable.
Following are the Provincial Nominee Draws of August till date :
The province of Quebec
On September 5, Quebec invited 1,433 applicants to apply for permanent selection. To be considered, candidates needed a minimum score of 586. Quebec uses a technique similar to the Comprehensive Ranking technique to evaluate the candidates with eligible profile.
Quebec is Canada’s only province where French is the official language. To help promote and defend French in Quebec, prospective applicants must have a level 7 oral competence (or above) in French as defined by the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français des adultes or its equivalent.
The province of Ontario
On September 7, 2023, the Ontario PNP held a draw.
With a CRS score range of 308-434, a total of 300 ITAs were granted to the OINP (Ontario Immigration Nominee Program) under French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream. Speaking French will also improve your chances of getting chosen in the new Express Entry targeted rounds of invitations that the IRCC has issued.
Therefore, its better to study French to get permanent status in Canada as soon as feasible.
In total, 1,427 provincial nominations have been made available by Ontario under the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream so far in 2023. Whereas Human Capital Priorities stream has 12,395 and Skilled Traders stream has 7512.
On September 19, 2023, the Ontario PNP held one of the recent draw.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program-OINP draw issued 608 invitations to apply for permanent residency (PR) in general draws under two separate streams.
Under the Masters Graduate Stream, 537 invitations have been delivered to all EOI profiles with a score of 41 or above.
Furthermore, 71 invitations to apply under the PhD Graduate stream are provided to all EOI profiles with a score of 40 or above.
The province of Manitoba
On September 7, Manitoba welcomed 558 applicants to apply for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
There were four draws, each of which considered applicants from three different streams.
Two of the draws were for Manitoba Skilled Workers. The first was occupation-specific, focusing on 230 individuals with jobs in 19 National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 main categories. A minimum score of 595 was necessary for candidates.
The general attraction for skilled workers was the second. The province welcomed 236 individuals who scored at least 640. There were no occupations in demand or other characteristics that were targeted.
The remaining two draws, with a minimum score of 724, welcomed 52 applicants from the International Education stream and 40 Skilled Workers Overseas.
The province of British Columbia
On September 12, British Columbia held its weekly PNP draw.
The province invited a total of 183 candidates (including Express Entry candidates) from the Skilled Workers and International Graduate streams.
The invites were divided into three draws that targeted certain occupations. The draw of tech occupation invited a maximum of candidates, sending invitations to 133 profiles with a minimum CRS score of 88.
The remaining two drawings required a minimum score of 60 for 36 early childhood educators and assistants and 14 healthcare professionals.
On September 19, 225 invitations to apply for permanent residence (PR) in general and targeted draws were sent out.
In a general draw, 147 invites were given across all BC PNP Skills Immigration and Express Entry categories. Furthermore, 51 invites were extended to profiles with experience as Early Childhood instructors and helpers (NOC 42202). Furthermore, 27 invites are being sent to people with profiles in 39 healthcare-related jobs.
Except for the entry-level and semi-skilled categories, the cutoff score rises by one point across the board with minimum CRS score of 60 for Healthcare and Early Childhood educators.
