Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) launched back in 1998, is designed to help address economic and labor market shortages through immigration into the province. The Immigration government of Saskatchewan usually conducts a round of invitations on a bi-monthly basis, at minimum.
But, this month SINP conducted these new rounds of invitations after more than 2 months, and the cutoff score was one of the lowest ever as compared to the previous Saskatchewan PNP Draws.
The latest Saskatchewan-SINP draw of 2023 on August 16, 2023, sent out 642 invitations to apply (ITAs) under the 2 categories for permanent residency: Occupation in-demand and Express Entry.
This is the unique-of-its-kind PNP draw in Canada.
The profiles were chosen from specific NOC Codes based on labor market conditions. The number of invitations and NOC Codes determines what the cutoff score could be for the particular draw.
The strange thing about the draw was the draw chose candidates from specific countries. I.E. the profiles were residents of a particular country.
One more strange thing was that the cutoff score of these draws was only 60 points which were unlikely to the previous high cutoff scores of the Saskatchewan draw. And moreover, it was also exactly equal to the eligibility score for applying for the SINP program.
Saskatchewan invited applicants residing in India, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, and Ukraine.
268 candidates are invited under the Express Entry category and 232 under the Occupation in-demand category.
